ABOUT THE ARTIST
Weston Lambert is a sculptor based in Tacoma, Washington. His primary media are glass, metal and stone, which he employs in an innovative and contemporary fashion. His roots as a sculptor can be traced to his father's wood shop and an impactful early encounter with the Louvre's Nike of Samothrace. He earned a Master of Fine Arts degree from Tulane University in 2012, and has worked as an educator at many renowned institutions. In 2014, he was the recipient of a prestigious Joan Mitchell Foundation Career Opportunity Grant, one of two such grants awarded nationally per year. Lambert’s work has been exhibited widely throughout the country and the world for more than fifteen years, including such exhibits as SOFA Chicago, The Toyama International Glass Exhibit, and the Cheongju Craft Biennale in South Korea. As a public artist, Lambert has completed prominent commissions for the cities of Chattanooga, Salt Lake City, and Geneva, Illinois. His works have been included in such publications as Sculpture Magazine and Glass Quarterly Magazine, and are recognized for their craft and beauty.
